Strong to Severe Storms Possible Southern Plains This Afternoon / Evening...

A weak surface cold front will sag slowly Southward across Oklahoma and into northwest Texas today. Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible within the moist, increasingly unstable airmass along and South of the front, primarily within the yellow shaded area on the above image.

Large hail and strong, possibly damaging wind gusts are the primary threats from the activity today.  The main severe weather threat will come from mid to late afternoon through sunset.

Folks in and near the above mentioned areas should remain alert today and listen to NOAA Weather Radio or a trusted local media source for any possible watches or warnings.
