Severe Weather Threat Will Continue Eastward Overnight...

Tornado Watches are currently in effect for much of the middle and lower Mississippi Valley, until Midnight CST:

...and 2am CST:

The watches are likely to be extended Eastward as the night progresses.  After Midnight, the greatest threat will come in the form of damaging straight line winds and large hail, although a few tornadoes still cannot be ruled out.

The greatest threat of severe weather overnight will be within the red outlined area on the image below:

If you live in these areas, please make sure that you have a way to receive severe weather warnings overnight.  A NOAA Weather Radio with a battery back up and/or a smartphone weather alert app are two very effective tools that you can use to help keep you and your family safe.
